Chaplain Warren Hiebert of the Gallatin County Sheriff's Department will provide a thought provoking training for the family on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. Every delegate, spouse and family member is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Bryan Lockerby, D.C.I. Administrator will present a class on Media Relations for Law Enforcement, and Social Media for L.E. Agencies. Two must have classes for all law enforcement.
Family members don't miss the training on self-defense and use of force along with the opportunity to use the Missoula Police Department Shoot-Don't Shoot simulator. Scheduled for Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m.
FBI Agents will provide a review of the events surrounding the take over at the Wildlife Refuge in Oregon.
The conference planners have worked tirelessly to make the 2016 Conference a Family affair. And with the Family as its main focus, there are a number of fun filled activities and events for the family.
SPLASH PARK is one of the finest water parks in Montana, and we have reduced rates for everyone beginning Tuesday afternoon through Friday. The Park offers 3 stories of water slides along with a lazy river when you need to take a break.
CANYON RIVER GOLF COURSE is a premier course and we have reduced rates for the golfer in your family. A small golf tournament for delegate and family will take place on Wednesday afternoon.
For the adventurous individual or the entire family; WHITE-WATER RAFTING on Wednesday afternoon. Raft down the Clark Fork or the Blackfoot River and enjoy the beautiful scenery and the rapids.
Each year MACOP recognizes administrators, officers and citizens who have been outstanding in their field, helped the citizens in their communities and have gone above and beyond the normal duties of a peace officer. Nominations are to be made by local agencies.
2016 Junior Police Leadership Academy
JPLA will be held July 10th - 16th, 2016 at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy.
The Montana Chiefs of Police Association (MACOP) is proud to sponsor the Junior Police Leadership Academy and to make it available at no cost to the youth of Montana.
Students have to complete an application, be sponsored by their local Chief of Police or Sheriff, and type an essay expressing why they are interested in the Criminal Justice Profession and why they should be selected to attend.
Montana Peace Officer Memorial Day
Peace Officer's Memorial Day is May 15th and the week of the 15th is designated as "Police Week". This year Polson Chief of Police Wade Nash has graciously stepped up and will host the Peace Officer Memorial Parade on May 18, 2016.
